absolutely OK for editing, watching 1080p video, etc.</div>

I also tend to buy not-used computers. There is a store here
in Reno<br>
that sells lease returns, for about 30% of list. Desktops and
laptops.<br>
<br>
I have purchased laptops from the pawn shops here, too.<br>
<br>
But then again...I hit on a huge sale at Costco on a Samsumg
54" curved<br>
monitor. None of the computers at chez Satchell could drive
the UHD at<br>
any significant frame rate. So my option was to build a
computer, or<br>
something else.<br>
<br>
So I did the unthinkable, bought a mid-range gaming computer
from Best<br>
Buy. It came with an AMD video card, which is excellent for
CentOS.<br>
When I got the 1 TB SSD, it worked better than expected. I'm
still<br>
tweaking it so I won't go blind, but it's really nice to have
the screen<br>
real estate of four 27" monitors, and without the ugly bezels.<br>
<br>
Overkill? You bet. The thing is, I'm in the process of
refactoring<br>
about 12,000 lines of Python code, and being able to have six
editing<br>
sessions on screen at a time is really speeding things up.
Not to<br>
mention the LibreWriter screen so I can document as I go.<br>
<br>
Happy birthday to me...<br>
