<div dir="ltr">I have had many payment schemes placed before me over the years, but the one that has won my loyalty is a guarantee, with incentives.<div><br></div><div>In the 1990s I was paid per article, when I wasn't (briefly) earning a salary.</div><div>In the 2000s I was paid per page view, 1 cent per view. But I don't know that publishers can get that anymore.</div><div>In the current decade I've been happy with a monthly guarantee. It has incentives I don't worry about meeting, and it makes for a comfortable ride. </div><div><br></div><div>Of course, I have a wife with a good job. <g></div><div><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">Dana Blankenhorn<br><a href="http://www.danablankenhorn.com" target="_blank">http://www.danablankenhorn.com</a></div><div dir="ltr"><a href="http://investorplace.com/author/danablankenhorn/" style="color:rgb(17,85,204);font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:14.6667px" target="_blank">http://investorplace.com/author/danablankenhorn/</a></div><div dir="ltr"><div><a href="http://seekingalpha.com/author/dana-blankenhorn/articles" target="_blank">http://seekingalpha.com/author/dana-blankenhorn/articles</a></div><div><br></div><div><div><div></div><div></div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Fri, Jun 14, 2019 at 8:01 AM Matt Heusser <<a href="mailto:matt@xndev.com">matt@xndev.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div dir="auto">Flat rate per article, planned a quarter at a time, modest discount (2.5%) for 10 or more articles a month.</div></div><div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Fri, Jun 14, 2019 at 7:33 AM Liam Kelly <<a href="mailto:ljkelly1888@gmail.com" target="_blank">ljkelly1888@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">I'm working with the CEO of <i>BTCManager</i> at the moment and we're discussing payment schemes for writers. Thought this group would have some sage advice on the matter.<div><br></div><div>So, we are thinking of three different models:</div><div><br></div><div>- A flat rate per article, not word count. Writers can write however much or as little they like. </div><div>- A flat rate per month, but writers must write x number of articles per month.</div><div>- Combination of the two. Writers are paid a flat rate per month for x number of articles, but once this threshold is crossed move over to a flat rate per article. </div><div><br></div><div>Personally, I think the third scheme is likely the best. It guarantees a steady flow of articles each month, and writers are incentivized to go out and catch more stories. </div><div><br></div><div>Any comments (even disapproving ones) are highly welcome.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br></div><div>Liam </div></div>
