Porn has always been a first mover in monetizing technology. Porn producers
were the first to make big money on VHS tapes, among the first to get
people to pay for accessing web sites, among the first into DVDs.

That's because porn consumers are voracious and have a lot of spendable
income. They're the perfect test market for new technology.

Also, the porn industry is desperate right now. If you think we in
journalism have trouble, imagine how porn producers feel looking at things
like Pornhub, where amateurs will do anything and give it away, 24-7.
Desperation always leads to creativity and innovation.

I don't know if this product is the answer. I'm not the market. But people
with ideas who need payng customers for content are always going to be
attracted to porn first, and the ideas that succeed there will quickly flow
to the rest of the market.
