Legal tender isn’t the issue… value received to the state’s coffers are.. so I’d be interested in how that actually works…

It's odd for sure, since Bitcoin, or any cryptocurrency, is not legal tender.

Not a good idea. When the value goes down, they get less money, unless they convert it to real money right away. If the value goes up, then you've paid too much tax.

And when I write value, I'm using air quotes.
