When I was a young kid, the best telecom equipment I could afford was two recycled yogurt containers and a piece of string. 

Today, I bought a Core i7 laptop for $62 . (Linux install. Endorphins.)

The seller lives close to me -- so I don't pay shipping, I just drive over to pick it up. 

Times change.

This laptop model sold for $1,629 in 2010.
