It's more than just paying a debt to society. It's the erosion of
trust. The reason there are so few well-paying jobs for cons is that
pesky agent-boss relationship that our judicial system hangs onto. I,
as a business owner, do NOT want someone I can't trust to represent me.
Even when you look at a consultant-client relationship, the consultant
can land the client in a federal prison.

Just ask Willian G Moore, who because of the actions of a consultant was
tried and convicted for bribing a Post Office official and spent time in
a Federal pen. (Plus, there was no need to bribe the official,
Recognition Equipment had a lock on the purchasing contract on merit.)

If you need another example of the erosion of trust, just look at the
sex-offender registries.
