[Ipg-smz] Today's whacky sales call...

I periodically get pitches, link suggestions, blog post offers, etc from 
PR folks who, just because my email address is @pair.com, are under the 
unverified impression that I work for PAIR Networks.

While I understand that to the unwashed, it's a reasonable guess, none of 
these people seem to actually verify this before pitching me, nor, when I 
push back with "what's the basis for believing I work for/at Pair," do 
they seem to understand my question, much less have a good answer.

This morning, I got a phone call, from a (so they said) research 
organization (although not my first guess of being a thinly disguised 
political push-poll, for a change), offering to send me a technology white 
paper after confirming my email address.

But they seemed to think I was the CTO for Pair Networks.

Go figure. I asked what the basis for that was. Of course, answer came 
there none.
