[Ipg-smz] FYI, (my) "3D Printers Could Be Coming to a Library Near You" article

I've been using a laser cutter at our public library for quite a while now.
We also have a large scale vinyl cutter, a couple of 3D printers and a press
machine (that can be used with the cutter to make custom t-shirts). There
are a number of computers you can check out. In addition to these machines
that require a short training course, there are sewing machines, embroidery
machines, a cricut machine, tools, pottery wheels, and more. They have a
small room with "kits" you can check out that have things that range from
paints to beads to even a 3D scanner. You can use many of the supplies at no
cost to make various crafts (3D printers you have to pay for filament by the
gram). There is another smaller alcove that has a lot of STEM kits that
include various circuits and other items you can use to learn about
electronics. More recently, in the main part of the library (where those
books and DVDs are), they added a gaming section where you can now check out
board/box games as well. I've seen some pretty good games displayed that
could be checked out!

Libraries are definitely not just about books anymore.

Fun stuff! (Happy to write more about this elsewhere, too, in case that
doesn't go without saying (or typing).)
