[Ipg-smz] We need an alternative to our existing lists

After months of fiddling with the list software, mail server, and
settings, I'm about to give up on our current platform. For reasons I
have not been able to pin down, some members keep getting locked out of
one or more lists. 

Indeed, SMZ, for some reason, seems to be the list that has the least
amount of trouble, so I'm posting this message to it, rather than ipg-
l, which is its more natural home. 

I still believe a mailing list is the best way to go, it's just that
our current setup is Not doing the job.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to replace it, I'd love to hear
them. I have some ideas of my own, but I'd like to hear from you.
