[Ipg-smz] And a Happy

I'm glad that these zeptoseconds weren't widely published in the media.

Do you remember the fears of some people when we moved from 1999 to 2000?

When the railroads decided to create time zones, so that the turning of
the earth would no longer factor into arrival times -- a train leaving
New York at 1 PM, traveling 36 hours wouldn't arrive wherever the hell
it could go in 36 hours - at 1 AM local time. Depending on where the
trip ended, local time wouldn't be 1 AM - it probably would have been
more like 11 PM or earlier. The adjustment would have taken care of this
discrepancy. At the time that it was announced, and before it happened,
there were supposedly reports of people predicting the end of the world.

Who knows what would have happened if that extra second made it into
popular thinking? (I hope my atomic clocks and phone know how to adjust
for that extra second).
