OMG. My company has events, right? One of our events is Women of the Year.
Before the actual event, we have a meet and greet for past and present
awardees.

I got assigned to write the article about it, and I led with:

"More than 50 current and past Women of the Year honorees, dating from as
far back as 2006 and coming from as far away as Idaho Falls, met on Feb. 6
to do what women do best: enjoy a glass of wine and a networking
opportunity. "

Now I have a small but noisy minority lambasting me for characterizing
women as "vapid socialites."

On the bright side, maybe I won't have to write that article next year.
