I lived in the SF Valley and OC during the late 70s, working for
consumer audio electronics manufacturers. It's where I caught the
home-brew computer bug.
I did sound mixes at Rats Studio in Cahuenga Pass..... and yes, designed
disco installations when I wasn't working 12hr shifts at JBL. Thump thumpa.
This was after mixing Leonard Cohen one night in Toronto a few years
before. He didn't like my mix. At the time, I didn't like his music. Now
I can play a dozen of his songs.... if not very well. A wise person once
told me not to quit my day gig.
