I tried using one of the TaskRabbit-like services (it wasn't that, but I
can't remember the name). Given that I paid something like $10-12/hour, I
can't imagine how the VA made any money. I stopped, because while the
actual person doing the work was actually fabulous, the service was
horribly unresponsive to new assignments. The person I worked with said she
was in the US, but I don't know for sure. I know the bulk of VA companies
seem to be using Indian staff. It's probably tough competition.
