NTT Data is the same company or a division thereof, right?
Unrelated to the layoffs, but just got this a few minutes ago.

Hi David –
NTT DATA <https://us.nttdata.com/en/>, a global IT services provider, hosts
an annual global Open Innovation Contest <http://oi.nttdata.com/en/contest/> –
with the next competition in San Francisco (*Jan. 30*). We invite you to
attend San Francisco’s pitch day
<http://oi.nttdata.com/en/contest/9th/venue/c14/> to hear these innovative
proposals from businesses who can change the world.
10 applicants will pitch their proposals (shark tank style) to a panel of
judges in front of a live audience throughout the day to solve one of
these seven
global challenges <http://oi.nttdata.com/en/contest/9th/challenges/>.
Unlike other competitions, *there is no cash prize*. Instead, winners will
engage in an intensive business development project.
Winners from the San Francisco contest will be invited to Tokyo to present
their pitches against companies from around the world – the ultimate
winners from that contest will be chosen to engage in an intensive business
development project to bring their proposal to life.
Venue details are listed below.
- *Location*: Quadrus Conference Center, 2400 Sand Hill Road, #204,
Menlo Park, CA 94025
- *Program*:
- 1:00 – 1:15 p.m. registration/check in
- 4:15 p.m. keynote
- 5:00 p.m. winner announced, reception
- 6:00 p.m. closing
If you plan to attend, please register at the links below or RSVP to me and
we will make sure you receive a press pass. We also have contest applicants
available for comment if you are interested in speaking with them more
about their experience and challenges throughout the proposal process.
