I have exceeded the 40TB storage server I had to store my interview
footage. I need to expand. So far I was using Hackintosh but now need a
rack with hotswapping drives as I ended up breaking SATA connected of 2 5TB
HDDs. I tried MediaSonic, but somehow don't like the idea of external
drives. Which MoBo/Chassis would you recommend? I need at least 8 SATA
ports or bay consider PCIe SATA extension. Since all MoBo won't support
macOS, I will use Ubuntu or CentOS (though I have had higher failure rate
of HDD on Linux as they kinda abuse hard drives with wonky power saving
which may turn them on an off randomly, on the contrary I have NOT lost a
single hard drive on MacOS - in fact one of my iMac is from 2011 and the
original hard drive is still working).
Any thoughts?
