[Ipg-smz] Jim Freund got a shout-out in one of my dreams last night...

(Jim, I don't think you're on this email list, but if you want to follow
up, if nothing else, I'm sure Barbara will be happy to do the honors in
fwding any comments to/from you.)

One of my dreams from last night: I was (dunno why) visiting David
Letterman (really dunno why) in his apartment (presumably) in New York
City, taking phone pics of the amazing (although geo incorrect) views from
his full-wall windows... our conversation segued to his mentioning WBAI, a
long-standing non-commercial NYC radio station (which I listened to, a
bunch, back when I was a teen in NJ).

So I started telling Mr Letterman about the wire recorder (a precursor to
the tape recorder, you can look it up) that I'd borrowed, decades ago,
from Mel Most (I knew Mel's daughter, was visiting, saw it, he let me take
it home to play with), and which, a few years ago, I'd passed on to Jim
Freund, who had been and was still doing a show at WBAI ("Hour of the
Wolf"). Jim recognized the machine as having originally belonged to WBAI,
and that Mr Most had worked there. (Note, everything in this paragraph is
true IRL.)

I was about to convey Jim's regards, or at least name-drop, to Dave
Letterman, when, dreams being dreams, something shifted to some other
scene, or our dog barked, whatever. Jim, I'm sure Dave woulda said hi
back. And, come to think of it, I have no idea whether you two already
know each other, but I'm thinking odds are good you do.

This isn't my first media dream, here's a blog post from some years back:
