Singer/songwriter Dory Previn (last name via her husband Andre) wrote a
song about using one's car as a place to let it all out, "Twenty Mile
Zone," lyrics included (see
http://www.songlyrics.com/dory-previn/twenty-mile-zone-lyrics/)

You were screaming in your car
In a twenty-mile zone
You were doing it alone
You were doing it alone
You were screaming

(I'm not sure if I first heard this song from Rosalie Sorrels)

Ms Previn wrote a bunch of songs, many of which are pretty dark and
depressing.
