[Ipg-smz] Thoughts on a Career Pause

Lots of interesting insights here. Thanks for sharing the personal and
practical.

A few more points:

- I don't have a contract as an editor, thus my health insurance, albeit
low here in Germany, falls on me. So, that's not really a concern when
jumping ship.
- My blog's "brand" is much more visible than me personally; if not money,
I am also concerned about degrading my social capital.
- I have probably a year's worth of living expenses in the bank.

I suppose then the question is what is the most effective way to build a
personal brand? What would be the multi-pronged strategy? I figure bylines
are ideal, setting up my landing page/portfolio (with a blog attached).
Anything I'm missing?
