Not for all projects. Often, "the check is in the mail" is enough feedback 
-- and "heck, we'll giving you a 30% bonus on this one" would work as 
praise, at least for me. (Well, I don't recall that ever happening, but 
I'm ready.)

Yes, praise is nice. Confirmation/reassurance -- thanks, that's exactly 
what we asked for -- is, like money, good 'nuff for me, most of the time.
