It may just be that a large number of dilettantes have been purged from our ranks, and many of us have changed who we write for. The number of publications keeps shrinking, but the truly valuable writers have relocated to other places that need us. Seems to me that negative thinkers like Doug are very likely projecting their own fears. Ours is a vibrant and vital community.
