[Ipg-smz] FYI, Lenovo 14W notebooks on sale again

This 14W-Black (there's also a higher end model, very confusing naming
structure here, feh) isn't a power machine -- 4GB RAM, 64GB flash storage
(neither is user-upgradeable, you'd have to get a whole new mobo, just
confirmed that by phone), 14" display... at MSRP $299, probably not high
on anybody's go-get-one list.
But it's (again) on sale at the moment, via Lenovo, for $129 (plus a few
bucks tax). That price led me to grab one while I could, which I did.

(You'll have to sign up for a LenovoPro account -- which is free -- to
access this (and other) deals.)
I bought one like 2 weeks ago (just after Sharon bought her much more
powerful -- and more expensive -- "new toy"). Other than powering it up
long enough to confirm it works and let Win10 initialize, I haven't yet
played with it. Two quick notes:
- the power port (and the power supply) is USB-C. I haven't yet tested to
see if the USB-C port can also connect peripherals for data and for
power-out... if somebody wants to know before ordering one, ping me on or
off list, it wouldn't take me more than ~5 minutes. (Otherwise, it's
probably one of my day-after-Thanksgiving-downtime tasks.)
- No Ethernet port. No big deal, USB-Ethernet adapters are $10-$15, and I
already have at least one spare. But helpful to be aware of, I'd think.
Impulsively yrs,
DPD
