Great, thank you all. Yes I found a menu for "select which icons to appear in the taskbar" which seems to have done the trick. Not sure where this "Up arrow" is that was mentioned a few times. I have left to right arrows in the task bar. But the wifi button problem has been solved. Thanks again.

Click the Up arrow to the left of the tray icons. That’s where icons go that accidentally got dragged off the list. You can then drag it back into position.

 

Or, in Settings, search for “Turn system Icons on or off.” Make sure the Network switch is set to On.

Youre talking about the wi-fi network button which is at the bottom of the notifications section? Or the legacy thing from Windows 7 that shows all the vendor drivers/helper apps?

The WiFi button / icon has vanished from the right at my fingertips tray it's supposed to be at by default, next to the battery icon, etc. Anyone know how to get it back there so I don't have to search for it each time I need Wifi?
