Subject: [Ipg-smz] New Position

Friends:

I am happy to report that I have accepted a position as Editorial Director for Project Insights at <https://www.facebook.com/TheLinuxFoundation/?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARBizVPeGKn0PSG1feje_NaMkWU-ESC-ZXj-tJ0TWsgohZ2LBuG4xeG6Yd0CSK4T-rS4OpIInMofPfUT&fref=mentions&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARD68j8eDCSSvNnONqtyymZw6IRf8fjvsnHYPdcxOIG7GkPeF7AJ6sLjDMzASTHmt8GYligD63UVv1YGP-EXln1RMlaxvPNthNyClTT4iBWxQF9zwIhtFhnXFpbWk5Fa-9-JOFS3viUfpWC0e9kfoenNV__9EN-6QHBZC4IiFfVSJJd1F3p_4lpbX7OkkuvHQpmp0QLpcSKWq_HCPA> The Linux Foundation.

This is something of a homecoming for me as I was Sr. Technology Editor for the original Linux Magazine from 1998-2008. Linux and FOSS have always been a passion of mine, and many of my friends originate from that community. In my 30 year career, I've gone off to Unisys, IBM, Microsoft, NTT/Dimension Data, to Proofpoint, always having been a Linux and Open Source advocate. Just over 20 years after I started with it, I am back with Linux and Open Source.

At The Linux Foundation, I will be helping them build their content covering major Open Source projects under their umbrella, for which they have many, over 200, which reside in every aspect of the technology industry and other key verticals, across the stacks in Cloud, Security, IoT, Mobile Devices, and Semiconductors, just to name a few. The organization's collection of FOSS software and technologies which they administrate is utterly massive and mind-spinning to even contemplate digesting. I will have a lot of homework to do and much to catch up on.

It will be a challenging position but one in which I know I will enjoy immensely as I will be working with colleagues who I have called my friends for many years. I look forward to collaborating and working with you and telling all of your stories.
