Rosa Sacharin (of blessed memory) worked for many years as a pediatric nurse, and then taught nursing.

Scotland's Nurse of the Year in 1981, Rosa also wrote the field's definitive textbook, "Principles of Paediatric Nursing.”

Toward the end of her life, Rosa contributed a chapter to "Learning to Heal: Reflections on Nursing School in Poetry and Prose" (edited by Jeanne Bryner and Cortney Davis).

We just learned today that "Learning to Heal" was honored with the American Journal of Nursing's Book of the Year Award in 2019 (#1 in the category "Creative Works”).

We are so incredibly proud of Rosa, and how fitting that — like a good nurse — she won this award as part of a team.
