Funny you should say that.  My sister, who runs her own business,  had a
iMac fail suddenly Saturday afternoon.  Working away, then *nothing*.
Power button doesn't work.  Not a bathtub in sight...

Took the poor thing to the Genius Bar in Reno.  "Because we can't power
it on, we can't run a diagnostic."  So did they open the thing and take
a quick gander?  No.  Why?  "This is a 1981 iMac."

So, to get her back on the air to meet deadlines this weekend, I
suggested buying a new iMac and inserting the old drive into the new
system.  "No, we can't do that."  Is there an external housing available
for the drive?  "No, we don't sell those here."

So much for meeting deadlines.
