[Ipg-smz] We need an alternative to our existing lists

So, a thought, and this could be my lack of knowledge of slack, but I read
these lists at lull periods, not in real time. I tried to follow our slack
list, but quickly grew bored. But here, when I get a few minutes or it's
late at night and I'm catching up, I can read through entire threads, catch
up, and respond.

I don't think we're a real-time group. I don't care too much if it's email
or a group forum, but I'd vote against anything that's structured around
"chat". Also, a benefit of email is substantially more group privacy. I'd
prefer to avoid giving Google (et al) a chance to scan our posts.
Sometimes, what we say is private. For example, I told CBS and IPG about my
heart attack, but no one else, including friends or family. Wasn't
something I wanted public. Sometimes we talk about publications, our
personal issues, etc, and we don't want that in the public eye. The benefit
of a private guild list is that it's private. Let's keep that in mind as we
move forward.
