+1 to every single word David wrote, and more: another benefit of
email is automatically getting your own, local, complete archive of
all conversations you need to have archived. Searchable with the same
tools you use for the rest of your documents.

As I already said, for me it can even be smoke signals, as long as I
can also get as them as email..
