Not at all the case for me.
I’ve become close friends today with people who, in high school, were slight acquaintances. Close as in, “We chat at least a few times a week” friendships. I’ll be seeing one of those people next week in real life!
One of my happy discoveries from my oldest acquaintances is that… we all grow up. Gary and I hated each other in grade school but he turned into a nice guy. I suppose I’m not as much of a dork as I was in first grade.
In other words: Yes, of course we change. But then there’s fun of discovering whom we changed into!
