The extra L is the way I learned it. How did my Irish mother know
Yiddish? She picked up German after WW2. Spoke French and Gaelic (now
and then). My friend JohnnyG knew Hebrew, Yiddish, German, and yes,
Gaelic because his nanny was Irish off-the-boat. Me? Scots English,
Canadian English. UK English, Hoosier English, French & Creole, words my
parents spoke to obfuscate their conversation, which turned out to be
mostly Yiddish learned from my mother, whose nanny was, yes, Russian
Jewish. Twelve years of Latin. ASL/ISL. C. Assembler. Perl. Py. My life
has been language constructs with crappy vocabulary lessons. Always the
vocabulary. Amo Amas Amat....veni vidi video.
