Between Plan B, which is taken directly from my Social Security, my
supplemental policy that pays what Medicare doesn't (might be Plan F,
I'd have to look it up), and my prescription plan with a super high
deductable (I don't take any prescription drugs, so I keep it "just in
case") I'm paying about $260 per month. For that, all of my doctor
visits and medical procedures are completely paid after I meet my $200
and something yearly deductible. My cataracts, for example, costs over
$4,000 for each eye, with no out of pocket expenses for me.
That sounds like a deal to me compared to what I hear that people are
paying for crappy insurance that leave a lot unpaid.
It's a real deal for me. For all of my adult life I couldn't afford
insurance, meaning I saw a doctor probably less than 10 times from 1967
when I left home and 2016 when I became eligible for Medicare.
