Can a late-comer join this older thread?  I know someone who was in just 
your position, in another industry.  What he did was simple:  he told 
his other clients that it was time for a vacation.

The guy lasted a month in the trial period, and was not picked up.  He 
then told his clients that he was back from vacation.

Dishonest?  Perhaps.
