I second the "do not use No Starch" opinion. And it kills me to say that.

I dealt with Founder/CEO Bill Pollock waaaay back (in the late '90s, I think) and everything was fine. I don't remember what it was about, but I was impressed.

Then a few months ago, I responded to their ad about copywriting. His staffer Anne Choi gave me a piece as a test, which I completed. Never got an acknowledgement. A week later I wrote; Anne answered and apologized, saying she made sure Bill had it. To make a long story short, I wrote after a month to rescind my candidacy. Never heard from him.

I can't say anything about the rest of the organization, but you know: A fish stinks from the head down.
