Back in the late 1980's, I was doing some writing for a publication called the Apple Library User Group Newsletter (ALUGN), published by Apple's corporate library.
One of the other people writing for that newsletter was a very smart New York state public librarian, Jean Armour Polly. I read every word she wrote because she was definitely
a few years ahead of everyone else in understanding the ramifications of tech.
Then in 1991 she coined the phrase "surfing the web." I ran into her at a conference in 1997, and said, "Jean, I really like the ring of that phrase 'surfing the web.'" She blushed and
said, "I invented the phrase, but I didn't invent the web."
Well, this week Jean Armour Polly was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame -- along with West African Adiel Akplogan.

Never underestimate librarians. Your books are due Oct 9th. Please remember to push your chair back underneath the desk. You need to return the bathroom key
and we'll be closing in 20 minutes.
