[Ipg-smz] something positive to say about "targeted" ads ....

... well, at least the idea of targeted ads. In reality, what ends up being
delivered isn't always on ... target.

What prompted this observation is how bad TV is at delivering any
advertising I have the remotest chance of wanting to view. It's hard to
believe the endless ads on CNN for a "free" book on Mesothelioma and Hughes
Satellite Internet are really worth the expense when they are so completely
irrelevant to, not just me, but the vast majority of viewers.

I'm glad there are at least features like Pause, Record and fast-forward to
skip over much of this.
