[Ipg-smz] something positive to say about "targeted" ads ....

In Northern VA, on Cox Cable, the local maddeningly repeating ad is "Len
the Plumber". Likely inflicted everywhere are insurance companies trying
to steal each others' customers, and (it being car-birth season) car
commercials. The latter, of course, emphasizing driving locations and
practices not seen/experienced in anyone's lifetime. I don't understand
why they think those sell cars, but I'm never invited to their focus groups.
I'm annoyed at the auto industry anyway since they don't seem to make
mid-range coupes. Honda and Toyota dropped Accord/Camry and it seems
I'll have to go up- or down-scale in what I buy. Everyone I've talked to
-- dealers, manufacturers at auto shows and conferences, automotive
journalists -- has said coupes don't sell. Well, of course not -- nobody
builds them.
I mostly drive alone, rest of time with my wife. I rarely stuff people
in back seat. So I like the larger doors on coupe -- plus usually nicer
body lines. That can't be so rare usage case/preference and yet nobody
caters to me.
