Suzanne Kattau-Marill (formerly Suzanne Harnos) is a Senior Editor, Writer, and Content Producer with more than 20 years of experience as a managing editor, content creator and producer, and copyeditor at IT industry newsweeklies and websites.

I’ve worked at Cybersecurity Ventures/Cybercrime Magazine, PCMag.com, RTInsights.com (freelance), Syncfusion (freelance), SiliconANGLE.com (freelance), SD Times, eWEEK.com (freelance), InternetWEEK, CommunicationsWEEK, among others.

I’ve worked at major publishing companies including J2 Global/Ziff Media Group, SiliconANGLE Media, BZ Media LLC (now D2 Emerge LLC), and CMP Media (now UBM or United Business Media).

I have extensive experience managing editorial and operational workflows, both online and in print.

I have worked closely with thousands of industry professionals, acquiring, editing, producing, publishing, and promoting their content. I have also written about many aspects of the business/IT marketplace, producing news stories, blog posts, feature articles, product reviews and buyer guides.

I also have extensive experience in social media promotion and leveraging search engine optimization (SEO).

I have a Bachelor’s degree in English from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.

I was in charge of all editorial content for RTInsights.com (Real-Time Insights), an independent, expert-driven web resource singularly focused on helping senior business and IT professionals accelerate their business with real-time insights.

Our expert contributors and bloggers provided real-time insights on analytics, big data, cloud, decision management, event processing, intelligent integration, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

October 2013 – April 2015: Copyeditor for Syncfusion

I copyedited Syncfusion’s “Succinctly” e-book series, one of the largest free set of technical books covering everything from languages to source control systems and beyond.

I copyedited e-books on Apache Cassandra, ASP.NET MVC, Cryptography in .NET, SharePoint 2013 App Model,  SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Twitter Bootstrap, Windows Azure Web Sites, Windows 8.1. I also copyedited e-books on AngularJS, CUDA, HDInsight, Microsoft Unity, NHibernate, PowerPivot, Statistics Using Excel, and ServiceStack.

October 2013 – April 2015: Cloud Technology Editor at SiliconANGLE.com

I covered consumer-oriented news and trends re: cloud computing for SiliconANGLE. SiliconANGLE provides news and analysis on the technology industry with a focus innovation, technology, emerging companies, enterprise, cloud, mobile, social, startups, and venture capital.

• I also wrote news articles, trend pieces, in-depth features, and blogs as the Associate Editor at SD Times.
• Before that, I was Managing Editor for Ziff Davis Enterprise’s “eWEEK.com Knowledge Center” (a section that showcased IT industry expert-contributed articles).
• I started my tech journalism career as Assistant Technical Editor in the product reviews department of CMP Media’s InternetWEEK.

  -My maiden name was “Suzanne Harnos” until October 11, 2003. Divorced and then remarried someone else in July 2017 but have kept the “Kattau” surname.
