Official Bio

A native of England, I have lived in the United States since 1980. After spending two years as a writer and desktop publisher for a Long Island music and entertainment weekly, I entered the computer business magazine and newspaper market with a short-lived position at the long-defunct ‘Macintosh News,’ published then by CMP.

After Mac News folded, I spent about nine years at CRN, the leading weekly business publication for and about solution providers, VARs, resellers and distributors. Over that time, I wrote for practically every section – hardware, software, end-users, careers, networks, distributors and news – before heading many CRN feature stories and projects. For example, I increased the annual Distributor Census from about 70 companies to more than 400 distributors.

I ultimately was named managing editor, departments, working with two assistant managing editors to assign, oversee, contribute to and edit articles for about 70 percent of each week’s issue. My responsibilities also included partnering with news, art, layout and upper management.

After the birth of my daughter, I followed a familiar path for many writers, entering the freelance market. I have been fortunate enough to develop longterm relationships, with both new clients and former colleagues, enabling me to provide writing, editorial and project-management services to a diverse range of clients. In addition to my ongoing focus on the channel, technology and business, I also write extensively about construction and healthcare software, as well as education for my local daily newspaper.

Some clients include: Everything Channel custom publishing, Baseline Magazine, eWeek, TechTarget, ConstructionSoftwareReview.com, HealthcareSoftwareReview.com, Channel Insider, ChannelPro, eWeek Strategic Partner, Electronic Commerce Times, Ingram Micro, Symantec, Oracle, McAfee, ABBYY USA, DeepNines Software, NASBA and Florida Today.
